Web Application Project (Visual Studio 2005) on Windows Vista RC1
If you've tried installing it already, you know it doesn't work. Rich Mercer posted the answer, which is to run the msi as an administrator. Unfortunately, you can't just right mouse click and run as Administrator. For details on the work around (a bat file) check out Rich's blog post about it.
UPDATE: The issue with this has been fixed in Windows Vista RC2 (5744) and you do not need the workaround anymore to get it installed.

I have Vista RTM installed with VS.NET 2005. I installed the Web App Support update from MS. I still don't see the ASP.NET Web Application project icon for creating a new web app project. I also can't open any existing web application projects.
Do you have any suggestions?

Sadly, I don't have an answer for you. I'm on Vista RTM (Ultimate on one machine and Enterprise on another) and have the web app project installed and both can open our web app projects. :(

it comes with the service pack 1 for vs 2005...
