Quick Tip: Guid Without Dashes

Interesting Types and SqlTypes Tidbit
Wednesday, April 07, 2004I talked with a guy from the Data Access Team and picked up something I thought was really interesting so I thought I'd share. Apparently, when .NET was in it's early stages, all value types (Int32, Single, Guid, etc) were Nullable (IsNull Flag), but apparently it was decided that the extra bit on each type was too much, so it was moved into the SqlTypes Classes. He admitted (as they all have now) that this was a horrible mistake (couldn't agree more).Filed under | 4 comments » -
No ControlArray's in VS.NET 2005 WindowsForms
Monday, April 05, 2004Found out today that ControlArray's were taken out of the Alpha version of Whidbey for the Community (2005) Preview. More now than ever, that makes my ControlArray Component useful. I've mentioned it before, but check it out if you're doing WindowsForms development and would like a way to logically group controls for event and property aggregation. I talked with Mike Harsh and some of the other members on the WindowsForms Team today about Designers and how much they've changed from 2003. To Seattle and Beyond
Saturday, April 03, 2004I'm leaving for Seattle in the morning out of good old Indianapolis Indiana for the MVP Summit. Should be fun, but I may be silent for a while afterwards! :P
